Jardin de Campagne l’Evêque

The garden is a project of the workgroup “collectif environment”.
The group has no legal status but brings together the social center, the city of Marseille, the social landlord, & the different non-profit organisations active in the residence.

The idea of this garden was born thanks to the “Régie de Quartier” (public authority of the district), which wanted to redevelop an abandoned field near buildings, that had become a dump

Initiated by an inhabitant of the area the organisation started by developing a youth exchange with Germany and started the garden in 2008 as a way to participate the development of the area by a collective and participative activity.

Following the creation of community garden “Habiter la Cité”(Néréides and Bosquet districts), the social landlord “13 Habitat” wished to renew the adventure in another district of its area





Le Jardin d’Adam

This garden allows users to share friendly moments: “Garden sale” (like a car boot sale but for gardens!) are held each year at the initiative of the “District Committee”. All gardeners of the district are invited to exchange and / or sell their seeds and plants.

Un enfant, un jardin

The owner of the land decided to share her passion for gardening with children in order to teach them that the vegetables don’t grow in cans. The objectives of the garden is to bring together children of different schools in a common project to create space for social dialogue.
